For the Solo/Budget Traveler:
This hostel is located in a large tea-estate, and it doesn't fail to give you a good glimpse of the life Wayanad has to offer. The location can be a little tricky, but if you are looking for a workation, it will be great. Tip: Having a 2/4-wheeler here will be needed if you plan to tour Wayanad.

Taj in Wayanad is a 5-star property overlooking the Banasura lake that will give you a true sense of luxury. Tip: The location is quite far (20kms) from Wayanad center, so please make sure you have a vehicle at this place. Also, Checkout Saptha Resort for a cheaper luxury stay.
The Airbnb Alternative:
This stay is a truly private Wayanad experience. Located amidst tea & coffee plantations, it also has a waterfall overlooking the property.
The property is well maintained and can accommodate up to 6 guests. For a group of 4 or more, this stay is a very valuable one.
Where to Eat
1. 1980
The best place in Wayanad to try authentic Malabari food. Inspired from the 1980s, the food and the ambience here will surprise you.
The relaxing vibe combined with tasty food is what makes this place great. Recommended dishes: Biryani and fish fry. Their veg menu is also delicious.
If you want great food and are okay with not so good ambience, this place is a must-visit. This traditional place serves one of the best biryani in Wayanad, and their google ratings are a testament. Must try: Fish/Chicken Biryani
This place has a vast variety of dishes on offer, and the service is impressive. FoodBae is located on the highway (near #2) with ample parking space as well.
Must try: Seafood
If you want a reliable fine-dining experience in Wayanad, Wilton is your place to go. Located a little far from the center, the drive till here will be surely worth it.
Their vegetarian menu is as delectable as their non-vegetarian one.
What to do
Banasura Dam is the second-largest dam in Asia. Surrounded by Banasura hills, this place has a lot to offer. Activities like boating and speed-boating, zipline, trekking etc. are available on site. Advise: Please reach here in the morning to be able to enjoy what this place has to offer.
The Eddakal caves are two natural caves that were used as trade routes between Mysore hills and the Malabar coast. These caves have stone carvings that date back to 6000 BCE. Caution: As visiting these caves require a moderately difficult walk, it is not recommended for people with health issues.
3. Chembra Peak
This is a moderate difficulty trek to the Chembra Peak that will present you with exhilarating views and peace all around. We recommend you to reach early here (around 7 AM) to be able to secure entry and to enjoy this trek at the fullest.
This temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. A holy mountain stream, Papanasini, flows near the temple, which is said to absolve one's sins if they bathe in it. This temple is thought to be very old and sacred.
Miscellaneous Tips
October - March is the best time to visit Wayanad. Avoid Monsoons, unless you want to chill in your stay during your time in Wayanad.
Wayanad is well-connected to Bengaluru and Mysuru by bus. Although the tourist places in Wayanad are not near each other, we recommend having a vehicle handy if you plan to roam around.
